Overview

Business Studies allows students to explore business concepts, terminology and the impact of business on society whilst broadening knowledge and understanding of the business world. 

Students will gain an appreciation of the influences and constraints within which businesses work and explore an understanding of career pathways. They will also develop employability and life skills that enable them to become financially and commercially aware. 

Where could this subject lead?

There are many different career paths for those who wish to work within the business sector. These include management, HR, finance, marketing and business information management, with the opportunity to work both in the UK and internationally. There is also the opportunity to progress onto an apprenticeship in Business Administration or a higher apprenticeship in Business Management/Leadership with links to Human Resources and marketing. This qualification could also be used to progress to university  to complete courses such as business management or topic-specific courses, for example, marketing, finance or accountancy.
